Hottest day since 1908
October 2: The Met Office reports that today's high temperature of "29.3C at Cambridge (at 14:29 bst) and Santon Downham (at 14:43 bst)" is a new national record for October 2, exceeding the 28.1C in 1908. Sunday formed part of a 4 day indian summer in which many weather records were broken. Saturday the 1st broke the all time high for October (Set in 1985) with 29.9C recorded at Gravesend at 14:42 BST. Alas the telegraphy incorrectly reported us as Santon Donwham..... Telegraph | |
